Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation in the Pacific Regions

The SSNED collaborated with the Pacific Centre for Environment and Sustainable Development at the University of South Pacific to organise a two-week training workshop on the theme Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation in the Pacific region. The workshop was held at the University of South Pacific (Fiji) between 4 and 15 May 2009 and was conducted in the English language.  It was primarily intended for public sector officials, at senior and middle management levels and for leaders of NGOs involved in issues relating to climate change.

The SSNED offered financial support for up to 13 individuals nationals of Pacific small developing states. The support consisted of reimbursement of (i) travelling expenses, using the most direct flight to Suva in economy class, (ii) a modest per diem (iii) transport for field trips and (iv) refreshments during coffee breaks.
